This is about a badger with a need to always make everything look neat and tidy and winter comes and all of the trees shed their leaves it looks messy so he cleans up every last leaf. But then the trees look ugly and bare so he digs up every last tree. But of course, then it floods, leaving the muddy ground a wreck. So he undertook the massive job of cleaning it up. He spread a layer of concrete over the forest floor, leaving a barren emptiness were life used to thrive. When he realises the mistakes he has made, he helps all of the forest animals rebuild their home.
Tidy teaches us that all life is important, and you must think before you do, especially when it has such a big impact on the people around you.
I think tidy is a well written children’s book with beautiful landscapes and a story for many ages. although everyone can enjoy this book, I recommend it mainly for ages 6-10.
