After the Fire
When I chose to read After The Fire, I was ready for a massive fire survival story. But instead I got a new opinion on the effects of a religion based dystopia, or tyranny. It showed me what would happen if someone took religious meanings and teachings to the extreme, which is a current issue in the world today. The parts that drew me in where the BEFORE pieces, which showed the slow descent into madness that Father John took. It was almost a detective novel, as the answer was always just out of reach. The ending also surprised me, as she was with her Mum, but not exactly happy. Overall this was a really good book, and is most likely for ages 12 and above. I liked this book and will read it again multiple times.
