Mrs M, The Skipton Academy
The Smell of Other People's Houses
It took a while to get into this book but as I got to know the characters I began to enjoy their stories and could see how their lives would intertwine. The Alaskan history was interesting and there was some beautiful writing. I'm not a fan of long descriptive passages but there were some really sharp sentences that blew me away. (I also sobbed at the bluebells in a whiskey jar.)
Give this book a chance - it grows on you.
