The Bone Sparrow

The Bone Sparrow is by Zana Fraillon. The chapters aren’t very long. On the front of the book it says ‘ Hope can set you free.’

In the book it doesn’t say the main Characters name as it only say me and I so I don’t know if they are a boy or a girl. The main character lives on a beach with Maà and Queeny. Queeny is quite annoying as it says ‘Queeny feet pushing against my face.’ If Queeny was in the same room a me pushing her feet against my face, I would go up to her and push her very hard as I need my sleep otherwise I would be very moody with everyone. Maà is sadly very ill as she never really eats. Their tent is usually very wet.

In chapter eight there is a Shakespeare duck that belongs to the main character and stays in their pocket. Still in this chapter there is an interesting fact from space it says ‘ the black and the bubbles in a rock that its from a shooting star, come all the way down to earth. ‘ I never knew that but it’s very interesting as it is good to learn knew things. The Shakespeare duck is a rubber duck not a real one. Imagine having a real duck in your pocket a lot of the time?

I did like this book but it was sad.
