Ms Allen, Thorpe St Andrew School - Page Turners Reading Group

Where the World Ends

I didn't expect to like this book, after first reading the other, more 'hard hitting' Carnegie nominations, I expected this book to be more for younger readers.
I was wrong! It was an emotional book, about a group of people, the majority children, stranded on a remote rock off the coast of Scotland in the 18th Century.
With reminiscences of 'Lord of the Flies' it shows how resilient the human spirit is in the face of despair.
