Imogen, Howard Parkers
This book is about a family that are in a war and their father gets killed so they began to travel to the border to start a new life. The illustrations of this book made me want to read this book because they tell a story more than what the text does. I think the illustrations style does go with the book for example the guard is bigger than the family which tells us that he is stronger than the family. I like this book because the front cover is bright and colourful and the title the journey made me want to find out about it. My favourite part of the book was when the mother is comforting the children when they are asleep but through the day she stays strong for the children but at night cries for her husband. Some parts of the book i didnt like was that it wasnt suitable for younger children and they wont get the impact of what older children would. I give this book a 4 star rating out of 5.
