After the Fire

My review is about After The Fire, written by Will Hill.

In my opinion, I think that this book is the best out of the Carnegie shortlisted books. It starts with a girl, called Moonbean who is in a special institute for people who have had post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) while a therapist and a detective try to find out what happened in her cruel past life with a cultist religion. In the book Will Hill represents the answers of her past life through flashbacks, slow build ups to the big event and when the tanks and army arrive.
It ends with Moonbean finding her family and i think it nicely ties up the end of the book with a twist and how her mum had never been to the camp to be close to God but to be we here daughter.

You really feel sorry for Moonbean once you read the whole of the book. Will Hill could easily create a second book after After The Fire.
