Cora , Blakehill's, brilliant, bonkers, bookworm bosses!

Town is by the Sea

Town is by the sea is by Joanne Schwartz and illustrated by Sydney Smith. The book is about where a little boy tells a story of his day to day life and how his father goes to do coal mining. This book is very different to other books it doesn't rhyme and uses varies colours and I like that on some pages the sea was sparkly and the colours they used look like watercolours. Also, I liked that at one part on the pictures the coal was falling down and you couldn't see his dad but I was glad on the next page you could see his father at the door. Overall, I would recommend the book to younger children - for 4,5, 6 year olds due to less writing. I would rate it a ten out of ten for the pictures and the way it is set out.
