The Wolves of Currumpaw

The Wolves of Currumpaw is an inspiring and truly moving book that takes an unfamiliar story and recreates it in a profound way that brings it to life. Whilst reading this book, I genuinely grew a strong, passionate connection to the characters as William Grill has written this book in different points of views for each character and has purposely made it that way to build a strong bond between you and the characters.
The beautifully drawn illustrations in this spectacular book are full of meaning and purpose; they challenge your brain to pull at your heart strings. The South American style changes throughout the book from a palette of mostly red and brown colours to a wider range of colour. This transition symbolises how the landscape changes in time and supports the storyline as well.
I would rate this book a 9/10 as I simply adored the moving storyline and the time capturing illustrations. However, I thought this book a little too complex for the targeted audience. Therefore, in my opinion, I suggest this book for 9 years and up.
