Sputnik's Guide to Life on Earth

I really enjoyed this book even though I didn't think I would. I found it easy to read, which made a change from some of the other books, as well as funny and imaginative.

This book is about a boy, named Prez, who lives with his granddad whose memory is deteriorating. Prez then gets taken away from his granddad, and is temporarily re-homed with another family. Then Sputnik arrives and tells Prez that the world is about to be destroyed and they have to save it. To do this, they have to make a list of ten things worth seeing on Earth.

Although I liked all the characters, Sputnik was probably my favourite. This is because he is developed very well and is really funny- I think he brings the book to life.

While this book is funny, it is also quite emotional. Prez has to come to terms with the fact that his granddad's disease is incurable and will only get worse. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone, adult or child.
