Personally, although many of my friends thoroughly enjoyed the book, I thought there was no clear plot to the story. 'Beck' was written in a sophisticated manner, which, in my opinion, is one of the aspects that leans it more towards being aimed for older readers. In general I found the book hard to follow, leaving my mind to wander off occasionally. On the bright side, though, I thought the emotions, intensity and complexity of Beck and Grace's relationship were well portrayed and the phrases used to describe it stood out on the page as I read the book. Overall, I thought the book could've been made more gripping but included good portrayal of relationships.
