Daisy YEAR 7 SEC, St Edmund`s College
Salt to the Sea
This is the story of four individuals' lives woven together through tragedy and friendship written descriptively, capturing you on the first line.
The opportunity of being able to see the story through all of their eyes was really effective and I think this was why this particular book won the overall best Carnegie book.
You feel almost as if you were there, walking along with the quartet, on the long journey to freedom and the biggest disaster in nautical history...
With Joana, Emilia, and Florian meeting up early on, leaving Alfred swabbing the deck of the Wilhelm Gustloff waiting for his medal of honour.
