Lauryn, Fortismere

Beck, by Mal Peet with Meg Rosoff, was an amazing, thrilling book to read. This book was a realistic story that could have happened to anyone like Beck during the 1900s. This meant that the novel was intriguing and pulled me into the upsetting book.

This novel portrays reality in the 1900s however the ending is joyous and uplifting. Many of these emotions occur due to the impact on the other characters.

I would recommend this book to older readers,13+, due to unpleasant scenes that occur in this book. The only aspect I would change is if the ending could carry on for a bit longer because I would like to know what happened next!
