he author is constantly and thoroughly in control of the plot yet more so with knowing the readers thought process.
by leaving questions without answers it makes the book more captivating.
some characters, betty and toby, are very interesting and new however some characters, Annabelle, are clichés'. I say this because Annabelle is a sweet naïve and innocent school-girl who comes closest to saving the day. this would be almost the only negative to this book. I like this genre as it is different to most other books. the author has a strong contrast between narrative and dialogue which helps with tension, on the rare occasion it comes up.
overall I really liked his book,
