Salt to the Sea

Salt to the sea is one of the most emotional books I've ever read. It is packed full of characters that you come to love. And all these characters : Joana the nurse, Florian a soldier who carries something precious, Emilia a young Polish girl that has escaped into Germany and Alfred a German soldier who listens to all of Hitler's propaganda. The one thing that they all have in common is that they all are trying to escape the deadly beast that is war. The book also informs us of the biggest maritime disaster that has ever happened. Most people don't even know about it. It teaches people to not repeat the same mistakes and to learn from the past. I think this book was one of the best books I've ever read. It has been the best Carnegie book I've read so far. I think that this will be the best Carnegie book out of all eight. I haven't read all of them, but I know that this one will stand out from all the others. I rate this book 10/10
