The Bone Sparrow

Reading The Bone Sparrow was a different experience for me. I learned about a crisis I wasn't aware of, a people I hadn't heard of, and a level of injustice I didn't know could still be condoned by governments of developed countries. The way people lived in the camp was portrayed in a thought provoking way, and I believed everything about the characters. I enjoyed the little bits of humour that popped up throughout, and was upset by what happened to people towards the end, as I knew that whilst it was only a story, it was a story about equally tragic things that could have happened and may one day happen in the real world. I would recommend The Bone Sparrow, and hope it is able to continue raising awareness for the Rohingya and refugees across the world.
