Salt to the Sea

Salt to the sea is an exiting historical novel with an inciting plot and lovable characters. It is set in the midst of world war two, where a wandering "knight" stumbles upon a girl being surrounded by a Russian soldier. The perspective is then changed from the two strangers to a band of immigrants fleeing from different countries. The two parties meet and it is their story of travel, love and loss. It also is the development of characters and of the war. There is also another voice that is added to the story- one of a German nationalist. Having so many voices gives the reader lots of perspective and paints vivid imagery because each character is concerned and notices different things. Definitely an exiting read and i would recommend for any reader interested in History.
