Raphy, The Elmgreen School
Saint death is a very emotional and sad story of a young man who is attempting to raise $1000 to save his brother. However simple this story may seem, it's actually a story of policitics, religion, friendship, poverty, love and war. It's set by the border in Mexico in a lawless city in the middle of a drug war. As faustino (the protagonist) attempts to raise money, we see a city ruined and scarred. We see a country which has been exploited by drug gangs, businesses and a wealthy few. The story is emotion packed and vividly descriptive and very unhappy with lots of political content, it really highlights the horrors they go through on a daily basis and how easy our life is.
