The Smell of Other People's Houses

I think The Smell of Other People's Houses is an okay book. It is from the point of view of four different people and is split into the four seasons as well.
If you are going to read it, I suggest reading it in one go, as I read it over a longer period of time and ended up having to go back and read it again, because I wasn't sure how (or why) some events happen or who some characters were.
I think the characters and their actions seem quite predictable and because of this I was expecting a plot twist or something of the sort, but I feel that the book got more and more tedious nearer the end. Regardless, I think the characters, especially Ruth, developed well throughout the book.
