Salt to the Sea

This Cilip Carnegie book was a heartfelt story of four individuals that have secrets and backgrounds that only nightmares could imagine, but soon enough they entwine and the only way to save each other and themselves is to preserve hope. Ruta Septeys has very carefully put pen to paper when writing 'Salt to the Sea', as once picked up to read; it is almost impossible to put back down! It is fresh and intriguing whilst laced with a hint of romance. It is a descriptive novella that has dealt with the worst event in maritime history very delicately; but sugarcoated it with the brutal honesty of how WW2 destroyed families and lives. A very recommendable book that is most deserving of the award. This book gave me one moral though...never give up on hope.
