The Bone Sparrow

The Bone Sparrow is a very moving novel. I think that this is because it all feels so real; it is about a boy who has lived in a detention centre (to escape the war in his country) all his life. It made me realise what happens in this world that I don't often see and what it would be like to live there. The story mainly followed a boy named Subhi. He was born here and has many sorrows in his life. He manages to meet a girl from the outside named Jimmie - she helps give Subhi hope that he may have a better future. Without Jimmie, Subhi may have given up all hope. This book was also very well written which made me empathise with the characters.
