The Stars at Oktober Bend

The Stars at Oktober Bend is the kind of book that requires the reader to pay a lot of attention while reading it. Although the storyline is fairly easy to follow because of the way it has been represented and told it is made into a more complex novel that is hard to lose interest in.
It is mainly told from the point of view of the main protagonist; a girl named Alice. The story revolves around the result of a terrible incident that leaves Alice with a brain that no longer works properly. This results in the story being delivered from the point of view of a person with an impaired brain.
In my opinion the novel is one that perfectly gets across the fact that Alice has suffered a terrible accident while doing it in a discreet way so that it is suitable for a teenage/young adult audience. It is brilliantly written and an important book which tells a story that is usually hard to comprehend in a simple way; which I think is truly amazing.
