The Bone Sparrow
The bone sparrow is a fabulous book based on life. I believe that this story shows how advantaged and lucky we are to have family, education and we shouldn't take it for granted, this definitely is a lesson for me and for everyone.
This story is about a dreamer of a boy, Subhi and a scruffy adventurous girl Jimmie; Subhi is a boy who's lived all his life in a refugee camp and Jimmie is from "the outside" as they call it and the day they meet is the day their life changes.
Other main characters are Eli, Subhi's best friend (his brother); together they face and encounter impossible feats. Maa, The special lady who Subhi counts on. Queenie, Subhi's selfish and bossy sister. Does she actually care about him? You'll have to read to find out. And you can't forget Harvey, one of the jackets. Seems different, but is he?
People go through disastrous things and a vary of emotions. But also find out about Jimmie and her hometown but at most learn something honest from it. It may be fiction but it is the truth. The truth of the past.
This epic story will break your heart, make you cry and make you laugh. Sounds cheesy but is the truth. I rate this 8/10.
