Mrs Beach, City Readers

Wolf Hollow

This was a great atmospheric read and very evocative of time and place. I loved the fact that Betty was evil but we did not ever get to know why - she just was. It was reminiscent of 'To Kill A Mockingbird' the way local people vilified a vulnerable man, and it was terribly sad at the end what happened to Toby. Could Toby possibly have pushed Betty down the well? I don't think so but it is good that nothing is definite. This was an enjoyable read but I don't think it will win.
