Sputnik's Guide to Life on Earth

Sputnik's Guide to Life on Earth was an enjoyable book but rather like Wolf Hollow I felt that I would have enjoyed it a lot more if I was around the 9 age group.

Prez is a young boy who is living in temporary care and has gone to live at a farm for the summer but while he is there he hears a doorbell and goes to open the door. When he opens the door he is surprised to see an alien and when he takes him in to see the rest of the family he is staying with they all see him as a dog. Sputnik tells Prez that he needs to come up with 10 worthwhile things before the end of the summer or planet earth will be destroyed but will he be able to do it in time?

I really liked Sputnik's character and I found him really funny especially when he always has to know if you can eat the things that he is looking at because he is constantly hungry. I found all the characters really likeable.

I found the book really unique to books that I have read before and I rareley laugh out loud when I am reading books, and I do tend to read quite a lot, but this book did make me laugh.

I really enjoyed when Sputnik and Prez travelled to different locations as I got really clear images of the different locations.

Overall a really enjoyable book that I am glad that I have read.
