The Stars at Oktober Bend

'The Stars At Oktober Bend' is certainly a riveting read. The story, whilst a bit hard to get into due to the style it is written in, is carefully constructed and incorporates the main characters' (Alice and Manny)disturbing back stories within the plot. this gets you submerged into the plot and turning the pages VERY quickly.

I can certainly see why this book was chosen; however, some of the plot holes within the novel were disappointing, and the last few chapters seemed a bit hastily constructed to do the book justice. Especially the last chapter.

Despite this, I highly recommend the book and hope that others enjoy the novel and embrace the deep and saddening message it gives.
This book is awarded an 8/10 from me.
