Salt to the Sea

This book is set in the World War II in Germany, 1941.
Florian and Emilia meet by chance, when Florian saves Emilia from a soldier. they seek refuge and shelter in barn, there they meet other refugees, Ingrid, Joana, Heinz, Klaus and Eva. The seven of them form a group and travel with each other across the country, escaping from the army. more than 10,000 refugees are hoping to board the Wilhelm Gustloff, a ship that could lead them to safety and freedom. However nobody can be hundred percent sure it will.
the book is an amazing emotional and life-affirming story. The fact that it is told from four different perspectives gives you an inside to everyone's thoughts, it is very descriptive and includes a lot of imagery, for you to imagine the scene in your own imagination. I loved this book and would definitely recommend it to others.
