The Bone Sparrow
The Bone Sparrow, by Zana Fraillon, was interesting and had an original plot. The plot was gripping and made you want to turn the page and read on.
The characters in the book are believable, this may be because of their realistic reactions and their troubling situations. My favorite character was Eli, because of his consistency and the way he always looked on the bright side, for Ne's sake.
The style of the writing was good in my opinion, I like how it often changed which character it was talking about, bringing you further into the story. In this book however, it had a few chapters about the refugee camp, before it changed to Jimmie's story, allowing the scene to be set, and to allow you to learn more about the camp.
I would definitely recommend this book to a friend, as it has an interesting topic, and a gripping plot. I would give it 7 out of 10.
