The Bone Sparrow
The book has an original concept and was quite different to other stories in this genre. It revolved around the children in an immigration camp in Australia, and how life is for them.
It was quite slow paced, in my opinion, and it didn't interest me as much as some other books, which didn't really motivate me to read on.
However, the setting was very clear. It emphasizes the fact that they are in the camp and that life isn't easy for them. It makes the reader feel as though they are in the book themselves.
The main characters were believable, instead of being stereotypical people. They were quite different to other characters in books I have read, which increased my interest of the book. Personally, my favorite character was Subhi as he was kind but also quite different to the others in the book.
I would recommend this book to others and personally rate it as an 8 out of 10.
