Hannah, St Helen and St Katharine

The Stars at Oktober Bend

I really enjoyed this book and the way Alice describes. I found that the poems throughout the book are quite rhythmical and could be the one's she places in public. The start was quite confusing but once you got into it, it began to make more sense. The story is about a 15 year old girl called Alice and a 16 year old boy, Manny. Alice acquired a brain injury when she was 12 and has problems speaking. But Alice writes poems in her book of flying and puts them up in public places. Soon, Manny James finds the poems and wishes to find the person who wrote them.

Overall, I would give the book a 4/5 for it is an interesting plot and well-written. However, sometimes Alice's writing is hard to understand because there are no capital letters.
