Railhead by Phillip Reeve was an intensely exciting book, told perfectly and following a gripping story. It was perfectly paced and the description was excellent, and it was just generally a brilliant book. It is my personal favourite of all the books so far, a thrilling blend of the Hunger Games and Star Wars.
Railhead follows the story of Zen, a boy who is kidnapped by Raven, a man who is half god, a man who wants Zen to steal something that will give him as much power as the gods in this book, the guardians. On this venture with him is Nova, a humanoid robot who will lead him on a dangerous mission through their galaxy, to defy all they have ever known...
I thought that this book was brilliant and told in a really invoking and original way. The way the characters emotions are described makes you feel as if the events in the book are happening to you. I would rate this book 5/5 stars any day. I can't wait for the sequel!!!
