The Bone Sparrow

I know they say never judge a book by its cover, but I can't help it and I'm sure there are tonnes of other students who do the same. Oops!! Anyways, i think the cover of this book is just perfect and appropriate for the story. As soon as I saw the cover and title, I instantly knew it was not going to be a positive book., and I was right!!!! The book was soo sad and moving but it really does open your eyes to the real world. It is about a young boy called Subhi and a girl called Jimmie. Subhi is a refugee (don't worry - there's no spoiler alerts) and it really made realise why do people hate refugees so much? They are humans like us and have rights. Although subhi has had a rough start in life, he still tries to remain positive with his crazy imagination. it kinda teaches us to be greatful as there are people with so little yet happier then us. I love the way authors use books to spread awareness and messages of real life problems. it is also makes us want to write a book ourselves. Over all i recommend this book 4 and a half out of 5. im not going to lie but i did find in some parts of the book a bit boring but i think it was because the writing and language, maybe use a range of vocab? well im not an expert but.... :-p
