The Stars at Oktober Bend

The Stars at Oktober bend is a good book. The main character has had something done to her but the author doesn't tell you what it is, only leaves clues so the story is a little different for everyone. The girl is called Alice and because she lost some of her memory she had to re-learn how to read and write. The author expresses this by putting no capital letters in her chapters. Her brother brings home books from school for her as she is too overwhelmed by the amount of people to go to school. The story is about how Alice meets a boy who has a hard background and together they help each other speak of their troubles. The story is written from the point of view from both these people. At the end a disaster strikes but Alice keeps her kind attitude and helps her bully instead of seeking revenge. It's a good book for someone who likes unusual family drama and likes an inspiring book without so much action.
