The Stars at Oktober Bend

This book is a shockingly brilliant story of two people trying to find themselves.Joined together by a powerful poem will Manny find himself lost in his past or will Alice find herself in the future ?

Alice is a fifteen year old girl with hair like fire and a skin as white as bones .She lives with her brother and Gram but something about her is different ... she is mentally stuck at twelve . After being assaulted she had severe brain damage which caused her words to be slurred and difficult to say , due to this she writes the most heart-breaking ,beautiful poems which she leaves around her village . Nobody ever responds, but Manny James isn't nobody...

Manny is sixteen and hopelessly running from his past . In his home town he was a child soldier and forced to see his mother and sister brutally raped and murdered. But now he is adopted by kind Bull and Louisa James and everything seems normal , boring in fact! Well, that was before he found that poem and the girl sitting on the roof.

This book will make you laugh and cry , I strongly recommend it to any avid reader because you will just loose yourself in it.
