Nayantara, King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Girls

Sputnik's Guide to Life on Earth

'Sputnik's Guide To Life on Earth' was, once again, a book I'd never pick up on my own accord. Initially, the age indication had me worried. I was confused as to how I was supposed to find a book targeted towards children of the ages 8+ interesting.
The book itself, has a very heart warming message and feel to the plot. Whilst some might say it's childish and a bit random (which it is, I suppose), it's also a light hearted read that will undoubtedly make you 'awe' at least once whilst reading.
I loved all the characters, who were all unique had had their own individual quirks. Whilst the book wouldn't come under the 'realistic' category - due to it's rather peculiar events, it would definitely come under entertaining.
I know this book isn't for everyone, and whilst I enjoyed it - I wouldn't say that I've fallen in love with the genre of books it falls under (which would be random comedy, with a cute message).
Overall, this book was great! A unique, interesting plot - with a great story to tell. I'd definitely recommend to anyone looking for something new, or a more upbeat read than some of the others in the list :)
