As a whole, I really enjoyed Wolf hollow. With a plot about an adventurous, young girl Annabelle and her country life, helping her parents with farmyard chores, deep in the heart of Wolf hollow.
However, her quiet life is turned upside down when a new arrival Betty, who's staying with the Glengarry's,starts to cause trouble for Annabelle and the village. Ending in a mystery involving odd, loner Toby, a gentle man,a man of very few words, haunted by an old, brutal war and Annabelle and her family find themselves entangled in a tradgic mess, changing their lives forever... Will Annabelle be able to forgive Betty and save Toby's reputation? Or will things take a turn for good or worse?...
I would say that one of the slightly confusing aspects is that it's quite a slow hitter, so at the beginning I had Wolf hollow down as your average book, but then suddenly the plot twisted and turned, and I knew I was in for a treat.
I would recommend this book to somebody, any age, and rate it a very good 4 stars.
