Abby, The Passionate Bookworms!
The book "Beck" casts a new view on what it is like to be "different" in society. Beck is only young when he loses his mother to the flu. He is moved about from guardian to guardian until he is old enough to understand and runs away. To me this book represents the society of people who aren't what we would class as normal. Although this book is set in North America during the depression the theme can be relatable even now.
