Wolf Hollow is an emotional rollercoaster, taking your feelings for a ride they'll never forget. I instantly felt connected to most of the characters and that allowed me to understand them better. The exception was Betty as I struggled to understand her reasons for causing problems and making people's lives miserable. However, this actually stimulated my interest as I wanted to get to know her more.
I really liked the setting and the time in which the story takes place. It's a totally different scenario from the ones I'm used to reading about. We're introduced to how life used to be in the countryside.
This story portrays the power of a lie and the dangerous problems and regret it can can cause. The finishing part of the book seriously stuns you as it avoids the cliche of a happy ending. Instead of smiling, you feel like crying or perhaps even moved towards anger.
Overall, the story teaches us that outcomes are not always perfect. We have to accept this and don't blame anyone else for it, not even yourself. It also makes you aware that the lines between right and wrong can be blurred. Wolf Hollow is quite simply a very powerful and imaginative novel which I recommend to everyone.
