The Stars at Oktober Bend

I found it hard to start this book, this was mainly due to the formatting of the book- no capital letters and the minimal amount of punctuation (in other words the punctuation and grammar is a little like me in the way I write) but for some reason it was extremely difficult and I still haven't quite figured out why.

Throughout this book I loved the mystery of Alice, this is mainly what drew me into the book and also a little bit as to why Manny was so interested in Alice. When the mystery was resolved I found the book to become very anti-climatic, this is only because the book seemed to me to from then on move very quickly to the final page- I just wanted Alice's story to carry on a little longer just to see a little more as to where her adventures took her.

How are things with her grandfather? Is joey okay that Alice is going to school far away? what about Manny? will he miss Alice? and the final question is; Will Alice enjoy the adventure that she is now on the road to taking?
