Leonara, St Helen and St Katharine
Rail head is the story of Zen Starling, a common street thief, who is suddenly caught up in stealing something like nothing he’s ever stolen before… His employee promises to make him rich, but either the reward will not be as big as he promised or the job will big HUGE.
Zen’ mother is mad and Zen and is sister, Myka, have a tough time stopping her from running away from the ‘people’ who she believes are trying to catch her. Zen has so many mysteries in his life and he has just been told the biggest on yet:
(Page 56) “His name is Tallis Noon,” said Raven. “You see the family resemblance?” “There is a seventy-six per cent similarity,” said Nova.
This book is set in the future, machines called ‘motos’ exist (machines which look like humans, but are actually electrical), headsets were you can do things with the blink of an eye (literally) or just think them, it is possible to travel to different planets through k-gates and the ‘Noon’ family are in charge of the universe, which was made by the Guardians (similar to our Gods).
I liked this book a lot, but it did make me think: if that’s what the future will be like, I’m glad I live in the 21st century. Zen seemed to do some crazy things at the end of the book though which I found annoying and unrealistic. I would give it 4/5 as I also thought it was well written and created very vivid images in my mind.
