Sputnik's Guide to Life on Earth
I think Sputniks Guide to Life on Earth is a surprising an interesting book about a young boy called Prez, who is from the Temporary, a place for children whose parents have deserted them and orphans, and an alien boy called Sputnik who need a way to save the Earth before it vanishes into thin air.
I found this book quite interesting, even though it was a very easy read that I finished in an hour or two. From just looking at the cover of this book, I thought it was going to be for younger children, but, even though it was quick, it was packed full of fun and the hilariously inexperienced Sputnik.
Sputnik is a character from another planet who comes to Earth after finding Leila, the first dog to go into space, floating around the universe. He got the idea that dogs were the dominant species from her, and based himself on that. He has many interesting and unusual ideas about gravity, and fills this book with a laugh on every page and I laughed all day long thinking of him.
Overall I found this book a little bit disappointing because I read one from Frank Cottrell Boyce before and it was a bit more action packed. After I got over this I found I actually enjoyed the book because it was very easy to get in to it.
My Rating: 3.5/5 stars
