Sputnik's Guide to Life on Earth

This book is about Prez, a boy who lives in a care home. He used to live with his Grandad, who has dementia, but got taken to the 'temporary' after his granddad is arrested. He is staying on a farm for the summer when he meets Sputnik.
I found Sputnik a really annoying and stupid character. Sometimes he was very understanding and would comfort Prez and in other times he did not sympathise with anyone (e.g when Jesse was sad that Sputnik didn't like her). I also didn't like it that Sputnik would do bad things and then Prez would get blamed for it (but then narrowly escape getting told off every time).
The ending was a bit abrupt and wasn't at all 'happily ever after' for any of the characters. It would have been nice if Sputnik had chosen to live with Prez on Earth at the farm with Jesse and her family.
Overall this book was really funny! It included really good jokes and had a good storyline. The writer managed to make really unreal situations seem possible. However, perhaps the writer could have included some main female characters so that it wasn't all main male characters (E.g Grandad, Prez, Sputnik) I give it 6/10
