Salt to the Sea

I enjoyed 'salt to the sea'. It had good pace and made you want to read on. It helped recreate what it would be like to live during the war, and showed one of the unknown tragedy's, the Wilhelm Gustloff. One thing that could have been a bit better would have been the transition between characters. Although it is good most of the time, sometimes it can be a bit confusing. All in all, 'salt to the sea' is a very good book and is deserved of being on the Carnegie shortlist.
