Salt to the Sea
Whilst I was reading 'Salt to the Sea', it felt really long because I wasn't particularly enjoying it. Books about death and war aren't the type of book I would choose. Also I knew what was going to happen at the end, which added to the depression of the realism of the book, as though their fate was already decided. However I found it interesting to hear the points of view from different people all from different cultures, yet all experiencing the same events altogether. Their friendships with each other were interesting, as they almost had to get along to survive but the relationships didn't seem forced. Overall it was a great book, but a little depressing and not my kind of book.
