Mrs Hurdley-Lees, City Readers
This book is completely engaging and thought-provoking. I couldn't put it down!
It tells the story of Beck, an orphan who travels across continents in the hope of finding happiness and contentment in the 1930s. It is like a 20th century Oliver Twist but with mature content and focus on Beck's quest for real relationships. If you want an absorbing uplifting novel then Beck is an excellent choice.
