Salt to the Sea
This book was incredible. Before I read this book, I used to love The Harry Potter Books but now I'm starting to have second thoughts. This book probably tops it.
It follows four characters all leading different lives and, in an extraordinary turn of events, they manage to meet on the Wilhelm Gustloff (the deadliest marine time disaster ever, though nobody knows about it.)
The book has a very Titanic feel to it and you can definitely sense the amount of terror formed before, during and after the event. Whilst reading the book, the disaster becomes very real. It is very gory at points, showing you just what people went through on the sinking of this ship.
If your looking for a book full of adventure and WW2 power and gore, this book is for you.
