Edwin, St Bede's Inter-Church School

The Stars at Oktober Bend

I liked the book because of its mysterious plot and strange characters. I did find the characters a bit unbelievable and they weren't really described very well. I liked the perspective changes and the story was very hard to understand right until the end when you understand everything. The story was good as it was going along and we knew enough to understand the section but not to know the whole story. However, if you look back on it, you realise that not much happened because as the reader you want to know the truth but when you know it the book has small moments of lots happening and then long bits of slowly telling the reader what's happened. The ending spoilt the plot for me as it had built up to something at the end that was dragged out to long. The fast intense ending was pulled out over multiple chapters
I rate it 13/20
