Sputnik's Guide to Life on Earth
Despite what many people think, I liked Sputnik because of its mild humour and interesting characters. I find it sad that many people fail to see how sad Prez is after losing his grandfather he stops talking to anyone. His adventures could be interpreted as a boy trying to escape his sadness with a dog or you can take it as it was written and picture this alien who looks like a dog. The characters were OK and I loved Sputnik because of how diverse the idea is of an alien dog who looks like a human in a kilt but Prez is sidelined by him and taken under his wing. The events are mainly just a collection of fun ideas and I don't like the plot what so ever because it might be funny at the beginning that they would shrink the world but it doesn't put the events together. It seems more like an excuse than a storyline. The other problem I had was that the entire plot is on the table from the start. You can see it coming from the beginning and it doesn't become intense or nerve racking at any point. I found the environment strange and interesting, the characters good enough and there were some good jokes but the plot let me down.
