Ellen Faysse, BMS (Books, Munchies and Squash)
Salt to the Sea
I can honestly say that I absolutely loved this book! The book had me utterly gripped from the first page and I found it very difficult to put down. I found a vital aspect of the book was the split narration from the different characters but did find myself favouring certain narrations. I also was astounded that I had not heard of the tragedy that occurred in the plot and then did some research into it later on. The author's description of the events was haunting but obviously intentionally so. I fully believe that this would be a very well deserved winner of the Carnegie Medal.
