Salt to the Sea

My first impression was that I didn't really know what was going to happen, but I was excited to read it. When I started reading it I couldn't stop it was so good!
Salt to the Sea tells the story of four young people and their journey in the world of war torn Germany. The Russians are advancing, and everyone is terrified they will be blown off their feet at any second. Three of the young people are just some of the thousands of refugees trying to board the ship to safety, but in war, is anything really safe?

In my opinion, I would recommend it to year 7 and over, as some of the scenes can be quite violent, tragic, or upsetting. All in all, it is one of the best books I've ever read, and I would happily read it again, therefore I implore you to read it, as it makes you realize how hard war is for everyone.
